At the invitation of Professor Beverley Kane from the Stanford University School of Medicine, Master Shudong Li led a special session of Stanford’s Medical Tai Chi course on October 9 in Roble Hall, which was met with an enthusiastic response. Nearly 30 students and faculty members attended in person, while approximately 70 more joined via Zoom.
During this session, Master Li invited two of his accomplished students to deliver live demonstrations of Taijiquan, Taiji Fan, and partner Taiji routines. The demonstrators included Ethan Zhu, a triple gold medalist in Men’s Chen Style Taijiquan, Men’s Chen Style Taijijian, and Men’s Sun Style Taijiquan at the 2024 4th World Taijiquan Championships, and Michelle Ahl, who won gold in Women’s Taijijian and Taiji Fan at the 2024 14th Pan American Wushu Championships.

Master Li also personally demonstrated his own creation, the 8-Movement Medical Health Taiji Routine, and introduced students to traditional methods for practicing the “Five Internal Energies.” This practice, rooted in centuries-old techniques, provides an opportunity for participants to engage with the rich depth of Tai Chi’s health benefits.
The event showcased both Master Li’s expertise and the outstanding achievements of his students, drawing participants eager to experience the profound impact of Tai Chi as a form of medical and wellness practice.
