At the invitation of Yunnan Minzu University, Master Shudong Li visited the university from November 1 to 3 and conducted academic lectures. During his visit, Master Li was warmly welcomed by university leaders, including President Ruan Chaoqi, Deputy President Liu Qingjiang, Vice President Yin Shitang, Vice President Shao Weiqing, as well as Dean Wang Xiaoxue and Dean Yang Xiangquan of the Tai Chi and Yoga College. The following morning, Master Li engaged in in-depth discussions with vice Presidents Liu Qingjiang, Vice Presidents Yin Shitang and Shao Weiqing, the head of the International Exchange Department, and key figures from the Tai Chi and Yoga College, including Secretary Wang Xiaoxue, Dean Yang Xiangquan, and Professor Lu Fang from the School of Literature and Media, exploring future exchanges and cooperation among international universities, academic organizations, and industry associations.
Invited by the International Tai Chi Academy, Master Li delivered an academic lecture titled “Analysis of the Current Promotion Status and Development Prospects of Medical Tai Chi Health Research in U.S. Universities.” In his lecture, he introduced the profound historical background of Tai Chi as a traditional Chinese health practice, highlighted its significant benefits for mental health and physical balance, and shared his invaluable experience from nearly three decades of promoting Tai Chi in international events, wellness research, and cultural exchanges. He also analyzed the current status of Tai Chi research and promotion in international, especially U.S., universities and offered unique insights into the future development of Tai Chi wellness research and its global promotion.
