Ethan Zhu, a high school student,in 11th grade. Ethan stands out as a multifaceted individual with exceptional achievements in martial arts, academic research, and music. Born with a passion for martial arts, Ethan has demonstrated unwavering dedication and prowess in various competitions.

Taichi Achievements: At the 4th PanAmerican Kungfu & Tajiquan Championships (2023, Canada), Ethan secured gold in Contemporary Chen Style TaijiQuan New Standard, silver in Contemporary Wu Style TaijiQuan, and silver in TaijiQuan Optional with Degree of Difficulty.

In the 2023 USAWKF TAOLU Team Trials, he earned a spot on the C Team, showcasing his competitive spirit with a 5th-place finish. 

The 2023 GoldenState International Wushu Championships saw Ethan clinch multiple gold medals, including in Other Chen Style Taijiquan, Wu Taiji Quan Competition Form, Other Taijiquan, Other Taiji Straight Sword, and 42 Taiji Straight Sword. Additionally, he claimed the 1st Place title in the TaijiQigong All-Around Championship.

Published Research:

Ethan’s intellectual pursuits extend beyond the realm of martial arts. His paper, “Tai Chi During and Post-COVID-19 Pandemic: How Much can it Really Benefit Adolescents?” published in the International Journal of Innovative Research in Medical Science, explores the potential physical and mental health benefits of Tai Chi for adolescents, particularly during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Musical Achievement:

Adding another dimension to his profile, Ethan Zhu has been honored with the MTAC (Music Teachers’ Association of California) Level 10 State Honor. This recognition underscores his musical talent and commitment to excellence in yet another domain. Ethan’s ability to balance rigorous martial arts training, academic research, and musical pursuits highlights his discipline, determination, and versatility.
