Dr Roger Jahnke, OMD is the director and chief instructor of the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi (IIQTC), a world renowned training and research institute in Santa Barbara, California. With thirty years of clinical practice as a physician of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chief of Staff of the Health Action Integrative Medicine Clinic, Dr. Jahnke has emerged as a key spokesperson for Integrative Medicine, Energy Medicine, Mind-Body Practice – Tai Chi (Taiji) and Qigong (Chi Kung) — and is a master teacher an trainer of these arts. With 10 research trips to China’s universities, hospitals, temples and sacred mountain sites, he has investigated the Shamanic roots of Chinese medicine to periods previous to the written history. Dr Jahnke has distilled the essence of Qi cultivation in his two widely revered books The Healer Within and The Healing Promise of Qi, and numerous research articles and chapters in medical and health system texts. He has dedicated his professional life to sharing the empowerment based healing traditions of ancient China and other indigenous medical systems in accessible, easy to understand and practice formats. The Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi (IIQTC) has trained 2000 Teachers and Practice Leaders and produced innovative research. Dr Jahnke is the cofounder and recent chairperson of the National Qigong Association (NQA). To empower those less likely to have access to the benefits of integrative health and medicine, Dr Jahnke and colleagues founded The Healer Within Foundation (501c3) which trains Practice Leaders who empower underserved populations to eliminate the necessity to treat preventable chronic diseases by preventing them instead. He is the translator/editor of the clinical chapters of the first English language edition of Chinese Medical Qigong — the official Qigong text used in the medical schools of China.
